Description of Service Opportunity:  

The Student Registration Center (SRC) is seeking a temporary office support from 7/1/2024 - 9/30/2024

The individual will be responsible for the following:

-Assisting families with the school registration process and application process over the phone or by appointment. Learning how to use our online student registration system “Registration Gateway” in order to help families with registering their child(ren) online and submitting the required documents.

-Answering Phone Calls and providing information to inquiries in regards to elementary, upper school, and high school registration, general registration procedures, lottery and application periods, information on age eligibility, etc. Assist parents in verifiying their child(ren)’s grade level.

- Help manage and monitor the department email account including applications submitted through email, downloading and printing required documents for registration when received, answering parent/guardian questions via email in a timely manner, routing emails to the appropriate person(s) in the office for further assistance.

-Become knowledgeable in the CPS registration and application intake process with a moderate understanding of the school-assignment process and Controlled Choice Policy, able to explain this to parents if asked

-Ensuring the completeness and accuracy for the intake process of each student registration application

-Maintain parent confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential

-Office related assistance: printing, copying, filing, transcription, scheduling appointments on shared calendar

-Other tasks as assigned by Director of Student Registration.

-Schedule is 20 hours a week, M-F.


The Student Registration Center is a fast paced office. The work time encompasses one of our busiest seasons,
with the processing of new registrations and new-to-CPS school assignments. There will be a high volume of phone calls and emails where the office assistant must be able to operate under these pressures. There are some opportunities for additional hours and overtime. Paid lunches, sick days, snow days, and holidays are not included.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, have clear

 

Length of Contract:

July 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024

 

Contract Amount:

$28.76 per hour, Not exceed $7477.60
