Description of Service Opportunity:  

The 2024 Summer Building Nurse will join one of 8 building based-operations teams to support the needs of students participating in onsite summer programs. Working under the direction of the CPS Operations Manager and Charge Nurse, the Nurse will be responsible for supporting medication management for students in CPS academic programs and general first aid for up to 200 students per building.

The Summer Building Nurse will be onsite from 8am - 2:00 pm (30 hrs per week) for 4 weeks, from Monday July 8 - Monday August 2nd. In addition, Summer Nurses will work up to 8 hours of pre-program preparation, including orientation.

Nurses will be hired to support one of the following buildings: CRLS, Fletcher Maynard Academy, M.L. King/ PAUS, Kennedy-Longfellow/VLUS, King Open/CSUS, Morse, Peabody/RAUC, and Tobin. In the event that all positions are not filled, nurses will be required to support two buildings.

Duties will include:
Collaborate with Summer Program Site Coordinators on maintaining up to date student health information for the summer.
Promote and support COVID safety protocols, including appropriate procedures for students exposed or displaying symptoms of COVID-19 infection.
Oversee and administer medication; per student medical records and IEP/ 504 plans.
Respond appropriately to health emergencies, and offer appropriate First Aid.
Assess the social and emotional climate for the students.
Help establish a positive school culture and climate where every child feels safe and respected.

Must be a Registered Nurse, Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant.

 

Length of Contract:

July 1, 2024 to August 2, 2024

 

Contract Amount:

$76.00 per hour, Not exceed $9728.00
