Description

Position:           Literacy Interventionist (0.67 FTE)

                        Graham & Parks School

 

The Role:

To support universal screenings, data entry, data teams and to create a rigorous intervention program for students who have been identified as requiring Tier III interventions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide small group reading interventions for students identified as needing Tier III reading support
  • Work collaboratively with the classroom teachers, instructional coaches, early literacy interventionist, special educators, and building administrator to design and implement an effective intervention program
  • Monitor and track student progress using the school's data system (mClass and iReady) 
  • Attend progress monitoring meetings, data meetings and other meeting as determined by the coaches and school administration
  • Help administer screeners, diagnostic and district assessments, progress monitor and enter progress monitoring data as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in elementary education from an accredited university or college required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Required Massachusetts License: Elementary, Grades 1-6, and/or Reading Specialist (strongly preferred)
  • 3-5 year experience teaching in a K-5 setting required
  • Understanding of the Science of Reading 
  • Experience with progress monitoring and small group adult led instruction required 
  • Able to collaborate with many teachers, coaches and administrators
  • Able to manage a flexible schedule
